Registration & Movement of Players between Teams

1. Clarification on league rules for movement of players between teams

Matlock Thursday Friendly League

Once the players have been registered for both the A and B teams the league rules do not allow any movement of players between the teams ie no player from the A team can play for the B team and vice versa.

Chesterfield & District League

When players are registered to play in the Vets and Wednesday leagues, the registration process is different to that of the Thursday league in that players are registered to play in a league and not in a specific team (A or B).

So once registered, a player will be classified as A or B when they have played four matches for that team during that playing season. So if a player plays four games first for the B team, the B team becomes their designated team for that season. Similarly with the A team, if a player plays four games first for the A team, this becomes their designated team.

When it comes to swapping players between the A and the B team, any number of B team players can play for the A team as many times as they like throughout the season.

However, not more than two A team players can play in the B team during any single match but they can do this as many times as they like throughout the season.

2.  Clarification on Baslow Bowls Club rules for movement of players between teams

a) At the end of each playing season all the Captains will meet to discuss whether there is a need for a transfer of players between the A and the B team.

Where the two Captains agree that a transfer is necessary, an approach can be made to a player (s) by the receiving Captain. The decision to move from one team to another firmly rests with the player concerned.

If the two Captains cannot agree, the matter should be referred to the Chairman.

b) If a player wishes to transfer from one to team to another, they should first tell their existing Captain and only then, can the player make an approach to the receiving Captain. It is up to the receiving Captain to either agree or disagree with the proposed transfer request.
